Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced that it has completed replacing 3,616 building number plates that are over 10 years old in Ilsanseo-gu through the **’Aged Building Number Plate Replacement Project’** that has been promoted since last May.
This project was launched to resolve the inconvenience of address verification caused by building number plates that have faded or become damaged over time, and to improve the urban landscape.
Old building number plates often have numbers erased or discolored, making it difficult for citizens to identify the exact location. In particular, it has become difficult to identify the exact address in emergency situations.
Accordingly, the city replaced the building number plates that were severely damaged, mainly in Ilsanseo-gu, and installed new plates with improved readability and durability. This replacement not only significantly improved the readability of building number plates, but also transformed the city’s appearance into a more organized one.
City officials stated, “This building number plate replacement project is very meaningful in reducing inconveniences in citizens’ daily lives and improving the city’s image,” and “We will continue to do our best to maintain address information facilities to provide citizens with better services.”
Meanwhile, Goyang Special City plans to sequentially implement building number plate replacement and maintenance projects in Ilsanseo-gu, Ilsandong-gu, and Deogyang-gu, starting with Ilsanseo-gu. In addition, it plans to establish a long-term management system through periodic inspections and maintenance of replaced building number plates.
Through this project, Goyang City is expected to further enhance the convenience and safety of its citizens’ lives and provide a well-organized urban environment.
