In order to prevent clogging of rainwater gutters and road water pooling accidents caused by fallen leaves in the fall, the city has been carrying out rainwater drain dredging work since March, and successfully completed it on the 13th of this month.

This dredging work focused on preventing road flooding and relieving inconvenience to citizens. In particular, it enabled smooth drainage during rain, especially on main roads that are prone to being blocked by fallen leaves and foreign substances.
In addition, a continuous rainwater drain (L=50m) was installed in the section in front of Yonsei Central Church, where chronic flooding occurred due to poor road surface drainage.

The district completed the work on December 6 by improving the drainage system through the installation of continuous rainwater catchers that have been in progress since last November, effectively draining water that accumulates on the roads during rainfall, preventing safety accidents caused by road flooding, and ensuring smooth handling of road surface water.
A Guro-gu official said, “We expect that this rainwater drainage project will prevent road flooding and make roads safer to use,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create an environment where residents can live with peace of mind.”
