Anseong City announced on November 28 that it had lifted the movement restrictions within the quarantine area related to the smallpox virus that occurred on October 29.
This measure was implemented after all clinical and detailed tests conducted on all small farms within the quarantine area were negative after a four-week clinical period from the last occurrence date.

At the time of the outbreak, Anseong City immediately culled 43 infected cattle from one dairy farm that tested positive, and implemented movement restrictions on 151 cattle farms within a 5km radius of the outbreak farm. Afterwards, additional spread was blocked through continuous clinical surveillance, quarantine activities, and additional vaccinations.
Anseong Mayor Kim Bo-ra said, “Thanks to the swift and active response of farmers and Anseong City, we were able to prevent additional damage and successfully complete the measures,” and urged, “Please do your best to prevent various diseases by managing livestock farms during the winter and following quarantine guidelines.”
