Incheon Dong-gu (District Mayor Kim Chan-jin) announced that it held an opening ceremony for the ‘2024-2025 Season Hwadojin Skating Rink’ at the North Plaza of Dong Incheon Station on December 13 and began full-scale operation. Hwadojin Skating Rink is in its fifth season this year, and is providing a special space for Dong-gu residents and tourists to enjoy winter sports.
At the opening ceremony, key figures such as Dong-gu District Mayor Kim Chan-jin, Dong-gu Council Speaker Yoo Ok-bun, and Incheon City Council Member Heo Sik attended and gave congratulatory speeches. This was followed by a handbell performance by the New Sound Ensemble and a congratulatory performance by aspiring figure skaters, which received a great response from the audience.
Hwadojin Skating Rink will operate for 58 days until February 8, 2025, and special events will be prepared during the Christmas and Lunar New Year holidays.

Dong-gu District Mayor Kim Chan-jin said, “I hope that the Hwadojin Skating Rink will become a space where residents and tourists can create happy memories,” and “The revitalization of the skating rink will also have a positive effect on the surrounding commercial districts that are struggling due to the economic downturn.”
