Anseong Citizen Football Club raised the status of local sports by being promoted to the K5 League on November 23. Promotion to the K5 League was the result of a playoff tournament between the four K6 League winning teams in 2024, and Anseong Citizen Football Club qualified by beating Yangju City Yuljeong FC 5:0 and Gwacheon City FC Winners 2:1.

The K5 League is the highest level of amateur football leagues, and six teams in Gyeonggi Province are expected to participate in the league in 2025. Anseong Citizen Football Club coach Kim Seung-ho said, “I am very proud that the passion and effort shown by the players led to promotion,” and added, “I am grateful to Anseong City and the Football Association, and we will continue to work hard for greater results in the future.”
Anseong City expects that the performance of the Citizens’ Soccer Team will instill pride and vitality in local residents, and plans to continuously promote the development of local sports through the expansion and support of sports infrastructure.
