Goyang Special City is recruiting the third term of artists in residence for the art creation spaces *’Haeum’* and *’Saddles’* in 2025. This competition is open to domestic visual artists and planners who are continuing their creative activities, and applications will be accepted via email until January 2, 2025.

Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced that it is recruiting the third group of artists in residence for the art creation spaces *’Haeum’* and *’Saddles’*. This recruitment is for domestic visual artists and planners who are continuing their creative activities, and is being promoted as part of a support program to revitalize Goyang City’s culture and arts.
Urban Residency ‘Haeum’
*’Haeum’*, an urban residency located in Ilsan Lake Park in Janghang-dong, is recruiting artists from all fields of visual arts: ▲5 general (all fields of visual arts) and ▲3 activity (planning and executing educational experience programs). ‘Haeum’ is not only promoting creative activities, but also playing a role in promoting communication with citizens through various experiences and educational programs.
Military barracks remodeling creative space ‘Saddle’
*’Saddles’*, located in Sinpyeong-dong, is a space created by remodeling a military barracks, and focuses on supporting artists who work based on regional research. Just like this year, a total of 4 people will be recruited, and not only artists but also planners can apply. Selected residents must present the projects they researched during their residency period at ‘Saddles’.
Benefits and Conditions of Occupancy
If you are selected as a resident artist for ‘Haeum’ and ‘Saddles’, you will be provided with a creative space from March 2025 to February 2026, and will be supported in various activities such as creative activities and project presentations. In the case of artists residing in Goyang City, extra points will be given during the document screening.
Application method and period
Applications for recruitment are only accepted via email until 6:00 PM on January 2, 2025. Detailed information and application forms can be found on the Goyang Special City Hall website under *’Information Disclosure > Goyang News > New News’*.
An official from Goyang Special City said, “Art creation spaces *’Haeum’* and *’Saddles’* are important platforms where artists can freely engage in creative activities and communicate with citizens,” adding, “We hope for the interest and participation of many capable artists and planners.”
