Among the winners is the Gyeonggi Northern Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Health Association, which has continued to carry out blood donation campaigns in cooperation with schools and churches even amid the difficult blood supply situation following COVID-19. In addition, it has greatly contributed to raising awareness of the importance of blood donation through operating blood donation cafes.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “Blood donation is the most valuable practice that saves lives. I would like to thank everyone who has worked hard to spread the culture of blood donation, and Uijeongbu City will continue to actively support various public interest activities, including blood donation, to realize the value of sharing.”

Director Jang Yeon-guk of the Health Center said, “Thanks to citizens’ participation in blood donation, we were able to overcome the slowdown in blood supply following COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to actively promote and encourage more citizens to participate in blood donation.”

The Blood Donation Service Award is given at the end of each year in accordance with Article 17 of the Uijeongbu City Blood Donation Promotion Ordinance, and honors the contributions of citizens and organizations that have contributed to blood donation.
