After taking office, Lee Ki-young, the new mayor of Geumsan-eup, began his work in earnest by visiting senior centers in the district . He expressed his intention to strengthen communication with senior citizens , listen to local issues, and practice resident-centered service administration .

Geumsan-eup Mayor Lee Ki-young visited two senior citizen association branches and 70 senior centers in Geumsan-eup sequentially from the 3rd to the 5th to deliver New Year’s greetings . This visit was conducted simply, without an inauguration ceremony, in consideration of the national atmosphere of mourning .
The mayor asked about the health and well-being of the elderly on site , and listened to their opinions on difficulties in using the senior center and local issues . Through this, he directly communicated with residents, identified the issues in Geumsan-eup, and sought solutions .
In particular, this visit emphasized the importance of fire prevention and safety management during the winter season . The mayor informed the elderly about precautions when using heating appliances and provided practical advice to prevent safety accidents in the area .
Geumsan-eup plans to review the opinions and suggestions presented by each village and then promptly process them through consultation with relevant departments . Through this, the plan is to minimize inconvenience to residents and realize an administration that responds to the needs of the local community .
Geumsan-eup Mayor Lee Gi-yeong said, “ I would like to thank the elders who warmly welcomed our visiting group, ” and added, “ We will do our best to communicate with residents and practice service-oriented administration to make Geumsan-eup a place where residents are happy . ”
