Yeongdeungpo-gu was awarded the highest grade, Grade A, in the ‘2024 Self-Audit Activity Evaluation’ hosted by the Board of Audit and Inspection, and was selected as the best organization for ‘four consecutive years’. This is the first record among local governments nationwide, and is considered an achievement that proves Yeongdeungpo-gu’s excellent auditing capabilities and systematic administrative operations.
The Board of Audit and Inspection evaluates the appropriateness of the operation and performance of the internal audit organization of 677 organizations in accordance with the Public Audit Act every year. This year, the evaluation included 10 items including internal control support, the composition and personnel level of the audit organization, and the performance of audit activities. Yeongdeungpo-gu achieved high performance in all areas and ranked first among autonomous districts with a population of 300,000 or more.

The district has strengthened the fairness and professionalism of audit activities by introducing a system of experts in the audit and investigation field and expanding the participation of citizen auditors. In addition, it has contributed to activating a culture of proactive administration and increasing the transparency of work through the pre-consultation system. In addition, it has established an anti-corruption culture within the organization and improved the reliability of the district administration as a whole through integrity policies such as holding integrity concerts, assessing the risk of corruption among executives, and having all employees sign an integrity pledge.
Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “We have been selected as the best organization for four consecutive years thanks to the continued interest and trust of the residents,” and expressed his aspirations by saying, “We will continue to be a trustworthy district administration through proactive audit activities and honest administrative operations in accordance with laws and principles.”
