Uijeongbu-si Howon 1-dong Community Center (Director Go Yeon-hee) announced that on December 29, the volunteer group ‘Andante’ (Representative Baek Du-hyeon) shared warm love by delivering 1,600 briquettes and 4 boxes (40 packs) of ramen to 4 underprivileged households.

This coal briquette delivery was carried out for neighbors who have difficulty heating in the winter, such as the elderly living alone and those receiving basic livelihood benefits. The recipients were selected in advance in cooperation with Hoewon 1-dong, and volunteers visited each household in person to deliver coal briquettes and ramen and offer words of encouragement.
Since its establishment in 2015, the non-profit volunteer organization Andante has been carrying out various volunteer activities for the underprivileged with its approximately 100 members. In addition to distributing briquettes, it has also been a role model for the local community through its consistent activities such as home repairs, rice delivery, and welfare center distribution.
CEO Baek Du-hyeon said, “We prepared briquettes to help low-income, vulnerable housing groups who are in dire need of heating during the winter,” and added, “We will continue to practice sharing in various places in the community and deliver warmth to our neighbors in need.”
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Andante volunteer group for sharing their love with our neighbors who are suffering from the ongoing cold wave,” said Go Yeon-hee, the head of the community center. “The community center will also do its best to promote welfare and improve the quality of life of the vulnerable.”
This coal briquette sharing event provided practical help to neighbors experiencing difficulties during the winter and served as an opportunity to spread a culture of sharing in the local community.
