Uijeongbu City, 2025 Eulsa Year New Year's Worship Service

On January 2, 2025, Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) held a New Year’s ceremony at the Hyeonchungtap in Jail-dong to celebrate the New Year of Eulsa (乙巳年) and pay tribute to the noble spirit of sacrifice of the patriotic ancestors and the spirits of those who protected the country.

This event was organized to start the new year meaningfully and to reflect on patriotism and the spirit of sacrifice, and was attended by approximately 100 people, including Mayor Kim Dong-geun, members of the National Assembly, provincial and municipal council members, veterans’ organizations, and city hall executives.

Attendees expressed their gratitude and respect for the devotion of the patriotic ancestors and the spirits of those who protected the country through ceremonies such as offering flowers, burning incense, and observing a moment of silence, and took time to remember their sacrifices for the country.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “First, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the victims who lost their lives in the unfortunate passenger plane accident, and I pray that their souls may rest in peace.” He continued, “I will deeply engrave the spirit of sacrifice of the patriotic ancestors and the spirits of the fallen heroes in my heart, and I will do my best with all the employees of Uijeongbu City to realize ‘Uijeongbu, the city that changes my life,’ prioritizing the protection of the vulnerable and the livelihood of the people.”
