Cheonan City Symphony Orchestra Opens the New Year with 2025 New Year Concert

Cheonan City Symphony Orchestra will hold a New Year’s concert at Bongseo Hall in Cheonan City Hall on January 9th at 7:30 PM to celebrate the new year of 2025. This concert is expected to provide emotion and hope to citizens through a harmonious stage of classical music and vocal music.

The first part of the concert begins with the Cheonan Samgeori Gisangok by composer Jeong Deok-gi. This is a magnificent piece containing the history and sentiment of Cheonan, and creates a powerful atmosphere for the start of the new year. Next, Hong Ju-young, a leading domestic vocalist and soprano, sings Spring is Coming Across the River, presenting a warm melody.

Tenor Kim Jae-hyung will captivate the audience’s hearts with a passionate performance of the romantic classic Be My Love. Finally, the two vocalists will present a duet performance together to sweetly conclude the first part.

In the second part, Rimsky-Korsakov’s symphonic suite Sheherazade will be performed. This piece is a musical interpretation of the stories told by Sheherazade, the heroine of Arabian Nights, to Sultan Sharia, and is characterized by splendid orchestration and lively melodies. The Cheonan City Symphony Orchestra plans to present the audience with a world of fantastic stories through this piece.
