Bupyeong Forest Incheon Butterfly Park is an ecological experience space themed on butterflies and insects, and operates various nature education and experience programs. The nature education center and the biology exhibition hall provide programs for children and adults to learn about and experience insect ecology. In addition, it provides local residents with opportunities to feel close to nature through seasonal special exhibitions and experience activities.

This exhibition will introduce the ecology of various insects living in Korea’s mountains and fields, and will provide an interesting experience for citizens interested in nature and ecology. A Bupyeong-gu official said, “This exhibition was planned to inform the public of the importance of natural ecology through insects that can be easily encountered around us, and to provide citizens with an educational and fun experience.”

This exhibition showcases various works utilizing representative Korean insect specimens such as stag beetles, sky beetles, flower beetles, beetles, cicadas, dragonflies, and aquatic insects. The exhibited works were produced by Bupyeong Forest Incheon Butterfly Park to enable systematic observation of the insect ecology in nature, and focus on informing visitors of the beauty and ecological importance of insects.

In particular, this exhibition is designed not only to simply display insect specimens, but also to provide explanations of each insect’s habitat and lifestyle, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of insect ecology.

Incheon Butterfly Park plans to release the exhibition video on its official YouTube channel for citizens who have difficulty visiting the exhibition. This will allow more people to enjoy the exhibition and raise awareness of the importance of natural ecology both online and offline.
