Zeta is a platform where users can create their own AI character, converse with it in real time, and enjoy immersive, hyper-personalized story content. Since its launch in Korea last April, it has gained huge popularity, surpassing 1 million cumulative users in just 6 months.

Considering the characteristics of the Japanese market, Scatter Lab launched the Japanese version of Zeta, and recently achieved a significant improvement in quality, resulting in users’ average usage time surpassing that of Korea. In particular, Scatter Lab, which has confirmed Zeta’s potential in the Japanese market, which is familiar with virtual YouTubers and animations and other virtual character content, is strengthening its localization strategy by hiring a Japanese team lead.

In addition, Scatter Lab is making various attempts to improve Zeta’s services and diversify its revenue model. Recently, it added a paid service that allows users to hear AI character chats as voices, and also introduced a function that automatically generates background images according to the location in the story.

Meanwhile, Scatter Lab introduced Kakao Enterprise’s AI-specialized cloud service to ensure stable service operation of Zeta. Through this, it secured fast response speed and stability, and achieved a cost reduction effect of about one-third per chat compared to the existing cloud.

Scatter Lab CEO Jongyoon Kim said, “It is very meaningful that Zeta has received so much love from users since its first year of release,” and added, “We will continue to strive to become a representative AI storytelling platform through consistent updates this year.”
