Kia’s electric SUV, the EV3, has achieved great success in Finland, winning the ‘2025 Finnish Car of the Year’ award. The EV3, with its unique design and cutting-edge technology, took first place out of six finalists for the award, hosted by the Finnish Automobile Journalists’ Association, with a whopping 195 points.
This year’s evaluation saw the Renault Scenic, Citroen C3/e-C3, Dacia Duster, Skoda Superb and Suzuki Swift as contenders, but none of them could overcome the EV3’s wall. The Finnish Car of the Year award, which began in 2014 and is now in its 11th year, was judged by 63 automotive experts based on a number of criteria including technological innovation, performance and value for money.

The EV3 can travel 605 km on a single charge according to the European WLTP standard, and its spacious interior and competitive price contributed to receiving high scores from the judges. In particular, this award is an opportunity for Kia to prove its electrification technology as it has been selected as the best car in Finland for the third consecutive year, following the Niro EV in 2023 and the Kona Electric in 2024.
Finland is an advanced market with an electric vehicle sales ratio of over 30% among EU countries, so Hyundai Motor Group’s consecutive awards have even more significance. Kia is actively increasing user experience by holding test drive events for press members and setting an annual sales target of 60,000 EV3 units in the European market through an aggressive marketing strategy.
The successful performance of the Kia EV3 is expected to contribute to the popularization of electric vehicles and strengthening competitiveness in the European market in the future.
