Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Kang-seok) announced that it was selected as a local government with excellent maintenance performance in the ‘Comprehensive Survey of Shared Property’ conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and secured 40 million won in special grants.

The ‘Public Property Survey’ is a project to correct errors by comparing information between the public property register and three types of public registers (real estate registration, land register, and building register), and was first implemented this year. This evaluation was conducted based on the results of two rounds of surveys conducted from April to September of this year targeting 243 local governments nationwide.

During the period, Songpa-gu thoroughly compared and analyzed any discrepancies in ownership, name, land use, area, etc. between the shared property register and the public register, and faithfully carried out follow-up measures to uncover and register any missing properties.

As a result, Songpa-gu corrected 612 errors out of 673 total maintenance targets (208 land, 465 buildings) and achieved a maintenance rate of 91%. This was a result of efficient and systematic management of shared property, and was highly evaluated and selected as an excellent local government.

The secured special grant of 40 million won will be used for unexpected financial needs in the future and is expected to contribute to stabilizing the district’s finances.

Songpa-gu plans to go beyond this achievement and establish a thorough system for all aspects of shared property management, including imposing and collecting royalties, imposing fines for unauthorized possession, and selling general property that is not suitable for preservation.

Songpa-gu District Mayor Seo Kang-seok said, “This achievement was possible thanks to thorough data analysis and continuous efforts to update the information,” and added, “We will do our best to thoroughly complete the comprehensive survey of shared properties that will continue until next year to increase the value of residents’ properties and to operate finances efficiently.”
