The challenge of Sejong Techno Park, a hub of regional science culture and creativity
Sejong Techno Park is playing a leading role in revitalizing local science culture and strengthening creative capabilities. The ‘Regional Science Culture Capacity Strengthening Project’, which is being promoted with the support of the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, and Sejong Special Self-Governing City, provides local residents with an opportunity to experience the intersection of science and technology and produce creative results.
In particular, the core program of this project, **’Our Neighborhood Science Club’**, has become an activity that encompasses various classes of the local community, allowing them to experience scientific culture and cultivate creative capabilities. In the program, in which about 800 people including college students, office workers, and artists participated, about 30 pieces of digital content were produced using generative AI and metaverse technology, and creative activities based on cutting-edge technology were actively carried out.
