Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, held a special experience class for local youth, giving aspiring sports enthusiasts an unforgettable day . The event, in which table tennis and soccer stars participated directly, attracted great attention .

On November 30 , Dongdaemun-gu successfully held a ‘ One-Day Class with Stars ‘ for children . In this program , South Korea’s table tennis legend, Coach Hyun Jung-hwa, and Song Jong-guk , a key player in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup semifinals, participated and held classes at different locations .
Coach Hyun Jung-hwa visited the Daegwang High School table tennis court and generously shared her skills and experience with the young athletes . Coach Hyun shared the know-how and training secrets that led her to the top of the world during her time as a national team member , and inspired the passion for sports in the young people . The scene was full of energy with the enthusiastic participation of the students and the passion of the coach .
On the same day , Song Jong-guk gave a soccer lecture at the Hwigyeong Girls’ Middle School playground . Song did not stop at teaching the basics , but also shared his experiences from the World Cup and emphasized how to foster a challenging spirit and dreams in young players . The participants had a meaningful time with the support of the star player along with the practical lessons on the field .
Dongdaemun -gu will invite former national badminton team member Lee Yong-dae to the district office auditorium on Saturday, December 21st to hold a badminton class for children for about 2 hours . Lee Yong – dae is the person who introduced Korean badminton to the world , and he plans to share his experience and skills in this class as well .
Children who wish to participate in the course can apply in advance from Monday, December 9 to Friday , December 13 at the ‘ Sports Course Voucher Website (svoucher.kspo.or.kr).’ Once the application is completed , participants will be provided with sports equipment .
Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Lee Pil-hyung said about this course, “ I hope that today’s class with the stars will be a great asset to aspiring sports players ,” and promised to plan various programs to help young people grow in the future .
This event was a special occasion where dreams and passions were shared beyond a simple sports class . The educational value of sports and the passion of the stars combined to provide great inspiration to the young people who participated .
