The Judo team affiliated with the Sejong Special Self-Governing City Disabled Sports Association has achieved the unprecedented feat of having all members of the team selected as national representatives. This is an achievement that proves the status of disabled judo in Sejong City both domestically and internationally, and is invigorating the local sports world.
Yang Jeong-mu and Lee Hyeon-a selected as national team players after winning gold medals
This achievement was made at the 2024 National Autumn Paralympic Judo Championships and 2025 National Team Final Selection held at the Andong Elementary School Gymnasium in Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do from November 16th to 17th.
On the first day of the competition, Yang Jeong-mu won the gold medal in the final of the hearing impaired (DB) -100kg men’s individual event with an overwhelming performance against a player representing North Chungcheong Province. Yang’s performance, along with the team members who were selected for the national team through the second round of selection, played a decisive role in the selection of the entire Sejong Disabled Sports Association Judo Team as national representatives.
On the same day, Hyun-ah Lee (Corporate Partnership, Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital) also won the gold medal in the women’s individual event for hearing (DB) -63kg by defeating a Daegu representative player, and was honored with being selected as a national representative.

All members of the Sejong Disabled Judo Team selected as national representatives
Along with Yang Jeong-mu and Lee Hyeon-a, Hwang Hyeon, Jeong Suk-hwa, and Kim Joo-ni were also named as national representatives. This is the first time since the establishment of the Judo Team of the Korea Disabled Sports Association that the entire team has been selected as national representatives.

Sejong City Mayor Choi Min-ho (Chairman of Sejong City Disabled Sports Association) said, “I am very proud of our athletes who achieved excellent results in this competition and were selected as national representatives,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to provide all necessary support for training and competition participation so that we can raise Sejong City’s status on the international stage.”
The future of national team players, toward a higher goal
The Sejong City disabled judo athletes selected as national representatives in this competition plan to further improve their skills through domestic and international competitions in the future. In particular, training and strategies are expected to be strengthened with the goal of the 2025 World Games and Paralympics.
Based on this achievement, the Judo Team of the Sejong City Disabled Sports Association has established itself as a new powerhouse in disabled sports and is setting an example for the local community and the sports world.
