The trophy presentation ceremony held at the Yongin Special City Hall on the 12th was a place to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the city’s workplace sports team wrestling team. In the ‘2024 Ansan Kim Hong-do Jangsa Ssireum Competition’, Kim Dong-hyun won his third Baekdu Jangsa title, and Park Min-gyo won his fifth Halla Jangsa title. In addition, Kim Yun-soo proved the team’s strength and ability by being named the second Taebaek Jangsa.
Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin Special City expressed his gratitude to the athletes and said, “All citizens are proud of the achievements of the wrestling team that brought honor to Yongin City.” He added that he expects the athletes to continue to achieve great results in their future activities.
This achievement once again proved the power of the traditional sport of Ssireum and served as an opportunity to raise the status of the local sports world. In particular, the Yongin Ssireum Team is also standing out in national competitions through consistent training and systematic support.
