Jongno-gu (Mayor Jeong Moon-heon) will hold the ‘2024 Jongno-gu Agricultural Specialty Products Direct Transaction Market’ for two days on January 20th and 21st to celebrate the nation’s biggest holiday, Seollal, at Cheongjin Park (146-3 Cheongjin-dong). This event is a place of exchange connecting cities and rural areas, producers and consumers, and was created to provide consumers with the opportunity to purchase high-quality agricultural specialty products and ceremonial items at low prices, and to provide farmers with the opportunity to increase their income.

In this direct transaction market, 6 cities that have mutual ties with Jongno-gu, including ▲Goseong-gun ▲Gokseong-gun ▲Naju-si ▲Andong-si ▲Yeoju-si ▲Jeongeup-si, and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province will participate, and a total of 17 farms are expected to sell carefully selected items.
From sesame oil to sweet potatoes, a bountiful selection of holiday items
The direct transaction market is operated with a total of 9 booths, and the operating hours are from 10 AM to 7 PM. The main items for sale are sesame oil from Goseong-gun, salted seafood from Jeongeup-si, shiitake mushrooms from Gokseong-gun, kombucha from Andong-si, strawberries from Naju-si, sweet potatoes, pears, and dried mackerel from Yeoju-si, and acacia honey from Gangwon-do Special Self-Governing Province, and other excellent agricultural specialties representing each city are prepared.

Promoting local economic vitality by issuing Jongro Love Gift Certificates
Jongno-gu issued a total of 5 billion won worth of ‘Jongno Love Gift Certificates’ at 4 PM on January 14 to stimulate the local economy and ease the economic burden on citizens during the Lunar New Year holiday. This gift certificate is provided at a 5% discount rate, and can be purchased for up to 500,000 won per person through the Seoul Pay Plus application. The maximum holding limit is 1.5 million won, and it can be used at approximately 11,500 Seoul Love Gift Certificate member stores in Jongno-gu.
