Songpa-gu, Seoul has produced “Changes in Systems in 2025” so that residents can easily check and utilize newly implemented policies. This material provides residents with a summary of systems implemented or changed by the central government, Seoul City, and Songpa-gu, divided into five areas: education and culture, health and welfare, safety and environment, administration and general living, and finance and taxation.
1. Cultural and spatial changes
In 2025, Songpa-gu will install the light sculpture ‘The Sphere’, the first work of ‘Songpa Media Forest’, in Seoho Lake, Seokchon Lake, adding artistic sensibility. In addition, the lower part of the Jamsil Lake Bridge pier will be transformed into the ‘Lake Bridge Gallery’ where you can enjoy media art.
Songpa-gu Community Center, which was built 30 years ago, will also be remodeled and reborn as the ‘Songpa Cultural Arts Center’ with a state-of-the-art stage and seating for 490 people.
2. Expanding support in the health and welfare sectors
In the health and welfare sector, practical support for residents will be greatly expanded. ▲The income standard for government support for child care services will be raised from 150% to 200% of the median income, and ▲the child meal support unit price will be raised from the existing 9,000 won to 9,500 won.
▲The limit for the Care SOS project has also increased by 200,000 won, and the maximum amount supported is 1.8 million won. In addition, ▲through the newly introduced ‘Pre-Pregnancy Health Care Support Project’, women can receive up to 130,000 won and men can receive up to 50,000 won for pregnancy preparation examination fees.
To manage the health of residents, free scaling services are provided to vulnerable seniors aged 65 or older.

Support for the safety and convenience of residents will also be strengthened. ▲ Support for the installation of automatic opening and closing devices on rooftop doors of apartment complexes will be provided, and ▲ the income standard for the ‘Seoul-type housekeeping service support project’ will be expanded to 180% or less of the median income.
The minimum wage in Songpa-gu is expected to increase to 11,779 won in 2025, which will also contribute to improving the quality of life for workers.
4. Providing convenient access to information
“Systems that will change in the new year 2025” will be produced in e-book format and will be available in the electronic publications section of the Songpa-gu Office website in January. This will help all residents easily access the information they need and enjoy the benefits of the policies.
Songpa-gu District Mayor Seo Kang-seok said, “I hope that many people will take advantage of the policies and enjoy their benefits, as we have organized the system changes for the new year in an easy-to-understand manner for residents,” adding, “We will continue to serve the residents as the masters of the district and do our best to improve their quality of life.”
Songpa-gu plans to continue to discover policies and systems that provide practical help to residents’ daily lives and continue to make a leap forward as a ‘Songpa, a luxury city where it is good to live.’
