Incheon Jung-gu (District Mayor Kim Jeong-heon) successfully held the inauguration ceremony of the Senior Citizens’ Public Service Activity Group ‘Senior Windmill Sheriff’ in the conference room of the Jung-gu District Office’s Woldi Hall on the 15th.
The ‘Senior Windmill Sheriff’ is part of the senior job creation project, hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City and Jung-gu. The inauguration ceremony was attended by 140 senior citizens participating in the project, including Mayor Kim Jeong-heon, as well as project officials, social organizations, and recipients from their workplaces.
This ‘Senior Windmill Sheriff’ is a new senior citizen job creation project in Jung-gu that was launched this year with the concept of ‘organizing the environment of our neighborhood’ in addition to the alleyway and surrounding environment improvement project that was previously carried out by each administrative welfare center.
A total of 140 senior citizens, including 70 from the downtown area and 70 from the Yeongjong area, are expected to serve as ‘Senior Windmill Sheriffs’ across the three dimensions of the business.
In particular, environmental cleanup activities will be carried out at places where garbage is illegally dumped, such as empty houses or environmentally vulnerable areas, and various campaigns and reporting monitoring activities will also be carried out. The activity period will be approximately 11 months, from January to November.
